Activity Logo
Inspired by the thermaltake's acrylic fan grill and fellow modder's case badges, I came up with something to call my own. Its a HDD activity Logo.
The block of acrylic was being measured, marked out and cut out. I used a dremel and slowly carved the image you see above. I call my rig as "the box". I place the acrylic against the my glowpad to test out the colour effect on the logo.
Next step is to wire up the logo. As show above, I used red LEDs to repesent HDD activity. I got 3mm 1.5V LEDs, so that I can connect them directly to the motherboard.
Shown above is how i mounted the acrylic to the sidepannel of my casing. As I ran out of clear silicon, I used the white coloured ones. hum.
Finally the HDD activity Logo is completed. Picture on the Left show no HDD activity - all blue. When there is HDD activity the red LEDs will start to bink as show above.
